For all her capers and animal like antics, Caelan is very 'girly.' She often has a purse hung on her little shoulder which she holds higher to keep the purse from falling off. In her purse she has a princess cell phone, a hair bow (which she calls a 'pretty-pretty'), and a seahorse (because it's sparkly). Whenever she can, she sneaks some lip gloss into this trove of girliness. Dress-up is by far her favorite. She will wear anyone's clothes: Evelynn's, McKenna's, mine- it doesn't matter. She loves to wear her leopard print boots, whether the rest of her is clothed or not and loves dressing up as a fairy, princess or ballerina. She is also very motherly, taking care of her little baby dolls. Cuddling, clothing, feeding and diapering. She can be very pleasant and freely offers hugs and kisses, whispering her "love yous" to everyone in soft tones.
While being 'girly' is her gentle-side, she is certainly rough and tumble. Her mood can change in an instant from sweet and calm to rascally and unpredictable. Her purse can be used to ward off her enemies (i.e. when Evelynn teases her), the hairbow ripped out of her hair and thrown, and stripped down to nothing. Her baby dolls go from cherished to soccer practice. There are times when her loving actions become jostles and head bumps,as she grabs the faces of those she loves and growls "I love you" through clenched teeth. With a purse on her shoulder and a baby tucked under her arm, she can fool anyone with her gentleness, but her eyes twinkle and I know that the baby doll will go flying and I feel the need to protect myself as she reaches out and grabs me.
