Sometimes I am asked how the girls are and what they are up to. The answer is always extensive. The girls have danced, eaten everything they could possibly find, watched PBS, Evelynn's world fell apart over not being able to get her pants up, shoes went missing, coats went missing... items found, Caelan played in the toilet, they played outside, they took turns swinging, Evelynn colored a glittering Princess page, Caelan pulled a "i-don't-want-to" limp body tantrum, they threw crayons instead of coloring with them, markers went without caps, they drank juice, they ran in circles, they ate cupcakes, McKenna bounced, Caelan and McKenna napped, Evelynn should have napped, they watched the Olympics, they refused to go to bed, many girly tears ensued......... and so on. And many are surprised that all this happens in the course of a day, but, yes,they do and I think that's only the half of their busy little lives in one day. The day is peppered with little girl voices and at the end, they slow down and say "I love you, Mama," and the day with all it's busy-ness is over and I don't remember everything, just the little voices.
